There is nothing like a landscape that reminds you of warm summer days. Walking out in the open air, looking up at the clouds drifting through the sky, seeing the mountains in the distance as the atmosphere dissolves them into the distance. Taking in the tall trees standing in the fields, catching the sun as it bathes their warm green leaves.
I want to paint this scene with you. In this painting lesson, Across The Field, I will show you each step in creating this setting in oil. I will take you through creating a nice calm summer sky, full of puffy clouds. Then I’ll show you a simple way to create those dissolving mountains in the distance. Then I’ll bring you into the foreground as we create a focal tree, and a nice warm grassy field.
Learn every color mixture and brush stroke. Learn how long I wait for things to dry, and how I move about the painting, conquering one piece while the other piece dries.
You’ll have a ton of fun painting this landscape with me!
