Join me in Alpharetta/Roswell, GA for a two day painting workshop. Learn my approach to painting the landscape in person. I have traveled all over the US and Canada for the last few years teaching painting workshops. They are always an exciting fun filled time where you will learn a lot of my techniques first hand! My goal is to always make sure you leave with new knowledge and a lot of inspiration for your future paintings. Please read through the Q and A section below to learn more about this great experience! I complete the workshop in acrylic but you can bring oil paints if you prefer (read more in the Q&A about oil paint)
Workshop Cost: $275 ($50 deposit to hold your seat, and $225 to complete payment)
DAY 1 Project:
This year, I will be painting a local scene on Day 1. This will cover a variety of topics from perspective, composition, color mixing/choice, proportion and more. Day 1 is the day you will learn a ton of information that you can use for your future paintings. I try to include all elements like clouds, water, grass, trees so we cover a lot of techniques.
DAY 2 Project:
Day 2 we will cover one of my signature paintings. It will be a painting I’ve never painted in a previous workshop so if you attended in the past you won’t have to worry, the painting will be completely new to you. I will post pics of the projects soon.

Q: What do I need to bring to the workshop?
A: You will need a table top easel, paint and brushes. I provide the canvas for the workshop. I always bring a little extra of everything so I can usually help you out if you are missing a color or brush. I can also bring an easel on request, but since I’m traveling it will be on a limited first come, first serve basis.
Brushes to bring: I use most (please bring additional brushes if you’d like): Medium flat brush, small flat brush, medium round brush (blunt end), small round brush (blunt end), small liner brush, script liner, fan brush, and a large background brush. *
*Medium = half inch to inch (1.5 to a few centimeters) wide.
Q: What will we learn?
A: We will do two full paintings in the workshop. The first day we tackle a landscape from your local area. In this first painting we will learn about perspective, color choice, composition, brush use and a lot of other very important techniques. On the second day we dig deep into a creative painting. Here we will create a painting from one of my signature series. I always choose a painting that I’ve never done before at previous workshops, so if you’ve attended before you can be sure you’ll be learning a new painting each time.
Q: How long is the workshop?
A: Each day is 6 hours of painting with an hour lunch break. The day is 7 hours total. Please look at the schedule above to see the time.
Q: I’m new to painting, can I still attend?
A: Yes! I’ve had a lot of first time paintings attend with great success. The group usually consists of people who have painted for many years to people who have only painted recently. There is always a good mix of experience. I do a lot of one on one teaching to ensure everyone gets as much info out of the workshop as possible.
Q: How many people are in the group?
A: We only allow 15 people total to join the workshop. This is a great group that is large enough for me to be able to keep the price down, but small enough to get a ton of one on one time and direct help.
Q: Can I paint in oil?
A: Sure, you can bring oil paints, but please bring Liquin Original to ensure your paint dries a little faster so you can keep up.
Q: Can I do a payment plan?
A: Yes! Just contact us and we will set it up!
Q: What if I have to cancel?
A: Your deposit is non refundable. Your full payment for the workshop is refundable as long as you cancel at least a 60 days in advance. If you cancel after the 60 days, we will give you store credit for the final payment that can be used towards lessons.
Q: When is the full payment due?
A: To give Tim sufficient time to fill any open spots at the workshop, the full payment is due 6 weeks prior to the start of the workshop. An email reminder will be sent out approximately 2 months before the workshop.
