No matter where you live, as long as you have a computer you can sign up for my online painting lessons and learn painting techniques from the comfort of your home. Each week you will receive a video for the lesson plan below. Whether you are a beginner, or an experienced painter, these lessons are a great tool to help you improve on your techniques. I will take you, in detail, through each step in painting a landscape. From blending the sky to painting the bark on trees. I believe that sometimes lessons can be too focused on art theory, rather than just painting. That is why I try and make sure the lessons are simple and easy to understand. I will show contemporary and traditional styles. I have pictures of these styles at the bottom of this page. This is open to all age groups, and experience levels, but there are a limited number of openings, so please sign up quickly. You can also purchase all of the lessons at one time, and you will get two online lessons for free by doing so. How It Works After you sign up you will receive a "what you need" guide in your email (pdf. format). This guide will explain the materials you will need for the lessons. I will also show you where you can purchase these supplies for a low cost. If you are already an artist you probably have most of the items. The lessons will be sent out weekly for 12 weeks. Every Friday I will mail out a new DVD. You don't have to pay any shipping charges, I cover the cost of mailing the DVD to you (this includes international shipments as well). Each DVD is about 90 minutes in length. The first half of the video is of the technique for the week, and the second half is applying the technique in a painting. You will also receive a guide to the first 8 weeks of lessons in your email (pdf. format). This guide will have step by step photos and instructions for the techniques I use in the video. It will also contain a color mixing and brush guide which pertains to the weeks lesson. You will be able to print this guide out so you can reference it at any time. After you have completed the lesson, you will be able to email me pictures of your progress and I will email you a critique. This is optional, but would probably be helpful in the learning process. In the critique I will explain what I think you are doing well, and I will give you some ideas on different things to try to improve your technique. If you have questions after watching the lesson, you will be able to email me and I will respond within 48 hours. In some cases I will respond with a short video to explain my answer. This will add up to 12 instructional videos that you can keep and always reference, and at the same time you will be getting feedback, and painting guides from the artist teaching the lesson. Cost and Payment I want to make this affordable, so I am only charging $15 a lesson (each week). All of these videos will be 1 - 2 hours in length. In most cases art lessons would normally cost you around $20 - $30 an hour. You will receive a lot of feedback from me in this program. Even though we won't be in the same room I will give you enough resources to make it seem that way. The first lesson plan is a beginner to intermediate level. More advanced lessons are available here. I will charge you the $15 the Wednesday before the lesson. I accept check, money order, credit card or paypal. In the case of check or money order, I require that the payment arrive by the Wednesday before the lesson is sent. This is a week by week basis, so you can cancel anytime.
